design assistant
Job Type: Full Time
To support and participate with the dlb design team in creating functionally beautiful spaces for residential and commercial clients while using industry knowledge, design experience, innovative design concepts and creativity, all while keeping within the dlb aesthetic.

Working familiarity with construction plans.
Strong communication skills.
Basic Google Drive skills.
Reliable car, laptop computer and willing to travel
Ability to help haul heavy samples and small furniture during presentations and installs.
Manage multiple projects at once

Works well both independently and with others.
Strong ability to communicate with coworkers, clients, contractors and vendors.
Ability to problem solve.
Extreme attention to detail with strong organizational skills.
Eager to learn and self-motivated.

Track and Monitor Design Projects:
Set up new clients in project management software, and add information as it becomes available.
Prepare client proposals for approval and purchasing.
Communicate with staff, clients and vendors regularly.
Receive shipments from vendors, and track their arrival and location in project management software.
Research, Recommend, and Track Materials, Finishes and Furnishings.
Research materials, finishes, furnishings, and fixtures.
Obtain samples for clients.
Coordinate pickups and deliveries with vendors (to warehouse and job sites).
Assist with site measurements, installations and photoshoots.
Coordinate post installation returns.
Obtain pricing and lead time information for products and materials.
General Administrative Support
Return all emails from vendors and clients by the end of the day.
Troubleshoot problems as they arise.
Perform other job-related duties and errands as assigned.
